Pennsylvania

So, the reason I was delayed in getting so much of our activities posted is because we left the day after the girls' dance recital for two-week trip to the east coast.  Our first stop was in Pennsylvania to visit Bill's family.

While we were only there for a short time, our days were pretty full!  One of the highlights of the trip for the girls was visiting a fish hatchery.  They were even nice enough to let the girls feed the fish.  The girls loved to see the fish come up to the surface for food.  They were very careful to make sure they fed the fish in all of the "tanks."

Madeline was really interested in the nursery where they kept the newly hatched fish.

After the fish hatchery we went for a walk in a botanical garden.  I snapped this shot of Hailey sniffing a flower.  This also happens to be her 4th birthday.

We also visited Baby's Restaurant.  It happens to be the first place I ever visited in State College, many years ago.

Making Disney Educational

It has been a busy few weeks.  We have decided to take trip to Orlando in February.  We are planning several days at The Magic Kingdom and then a day at EPCOT and a day at the Wild Animal Kingdom.  I have been looking for some resources to make this a more educational trip, especially the EPCOT portion.  Madeline is particularly interested in geography and world cultures.  I have read reviews of the parks, browsed websites related to the park, and read books.  I recently found these books from www.vacationeducationbooks.com, which I am going to check out:

My biggest concern about them is that they may have too much of a religious leaning.  I am hoping that they will be good resources and have great ideas that I can work with.

I will let you know what I think!
