The Great Backyard Bird Count is quickly approaching. We attempt this every year, but I am not particularly good at identifying birds, so we have not had much success. This year we are preparing by practicing identifying the birds in our backyard prior to the official start of the count.We are using the book The Backyard Birdsong Guide by Donald Kroodsma. It includes audio of the birds' songs, which the girls love.
We are also going to be learning about John James Audubon. We will be using these books:
